Participatory design | Pulau Ubin

This project was to encourage and reinforce social cohesion or bonding among residents in Pulau Ubin.

This portable photo wall was inspired by the memories shared by the residents at Pulau Ubin with us. We compiled their fonded memories into photos and put all of them up on the panels for the residents to come together to reminisce about these memories. Thus, this portable photo wall can become a platform for the residents to interact more with one another as they talk to each other about these memories.

The materials used to make the panels are also inspired by the materials found in Pulau Ubin such as Crate Wood, Stainless Steel, Corrugated Board, and Bamboo.

My groupmates and I were privileged to showcase our work |portable photo wall| during Pesta Ubin. In addition, we had an opportunity to present and proposed it to Mr Desmond Lee | Minister for National Development |. We were also chosen to present an official proposal to Mr Desmond Lee and as well as members of Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). Lastly, I am beyond proud of our hard work as it was featured in one of Ngee Ann Polytechnic's montly article. View the full article here!
